Aggregate Winnings — gambling term explained

Aggregate winnings is the running total of everything a player has won over a period — one session, a weekend trip or a full month. Because the term has no built-in timeframe, anyone quoting it should state the period, as in “my aggregate winnings for the week came to $2,000”.

The figure is not the same as profit. Aggregate winnings add up the returns, while net winnings subtract the stakes and losses along the way, so a player can post large aggregate winnings and still finish behind.

For online operators, win totals per player and per period feed into several processes: VIP reviews, responsible gambling monitoring, fraud checks on unusual patterns and, in some markets, tax or reporting duties. Keeping wins, stakes and bonus funds in separate ledger entries makes those reports reliable.
