Flat betting means wagering the same amount on every bet, whatever happened on the last one. There is no progression to follow, which makes it the simplest staking approach and the opposite of systems such as the Martingale or Paroli.
Flat bettors usually pick a unit worth roughly 1–5% of their bankroll and stick to it for the whole session, waiting for a winning run to build a profit. Because stakes never rise, losses are not recovered quickly, but the player also avoids the steep exposure of doubling systems, and a given bankroll lasts a predictable number of bets. Some players find it too passive and prefer systems that feel more active. Mathematically, though, no staking plan changes the house edge.
Steady players, steady rewards
Flat bettors make up much of a casino’s recreational base. Their consistent stakes suit turnover-based loyalty points and cashback schemes.
