The Champions

The Champions is a football slot from Pragmatic Play that starts by asking players to pick the country they want to represent. The tournament then plays out on five reels, three rows and 25 paylines, with medium volatility and stakes from 0.25 € to 125 € per spin.

Two features carry the story. A momentum progressive game levels up every time the ball finds the target, building a multiplier of up to 20x, while three bonus symbols open a penalty shoot-out worth up to 100x the total bet per shot. The RTP is 96.51 % and the top win is 170500 €. It is an obvious fit for football fans and for operators planning tournament-season promotions.

Before the first spin, players choose the nation they will play for, a small touch that makes the session feel personal. From there, everything follows the football theme, from the kit on the reels to the trophy that acts as the wild.

The control bar sits at the bottom of the display, so stake changes and spins are always within reach. A soundtrack plays in the background, and the graphics run smoothly in a web browser with no software to install.

With medium variance, the game balances regular small payouts against bigger wins that take longer to arrive. That makes it suitable for newcomers who want to try a sports-themed slot as well as experienced players looking for something different from the usual themes. The penalty shoot-out and goal-scoring ladder tie the features directly to the theme rather than simply sitting on top of it.

The symbols reflect a match day:

• Football gear: a ball, a jersey, boots, goalkeeper gloves and a referee's whistle. These are the premium icons, paying from up to 75 coins to a maximum of 2,500 coins.
• Card letters A, K and Q: the lower-paying icons, ranging from up to 25 coins to a maximum of 500 coins.
• Championship cup: the wild.
• Bonus symbol: the key to the penalty shoot-out.

Players set their stake in the control bar before spinning. The payout table lists 0.25 € as the minimum and 125 € as the maximum per spin, and autoplay can run a batch of spins at the selected value.

There are 25 paylines across the grid, which gives every spin several chances to connect. A payline pays when three matching symbols land on it.

The championship cup wild is the most valuable symbol: five on a payline pay up to 5,000 coins, and three return up to 400 coins. It also fills in for regular symbols, so it often turns a near miss into a win.

The bonus features are built around scoring goals:

• Wild: the championship cup replaces every symbol except the bonus symbol.
• Momentum progressive game: triggered whenever the ball lands on the highlighted spot on the reels. It starts at 1x, and each goal moves the player up a level for the next 10 spins, with the level's multiplier applied to the total win. There are 11 levels, and the top one carries a 20x multiplier.
• Penalty shots bonus: three bonus symbols award five penalty shots. The first shot is worth up to 100x the total bet, and the value falls step by step to 5x as the shoot-out continues.

The momentum ladder rewards sustained play, while the penalty round offers a quick, high-value burst, so the game has both a slow build and an instant-win hook.
