Paysera’s Background
Paysera began in Lithuania in 2004 as a project to build a new payment processing system called Mokejimai. In 2008 the company was renamed EVP International, and under that name it received a payment institution licence in 2011 and an electronic money institution licence in 2012, both from the Bank of Lithuania.
After launching its mobile app in 2014, the business took the name Paysera and added new services, including a Visa payment card, an event ticketing system, IBAN accounts for clients and a payment initiation service (PIS). In 2017 it released a contactless (NFC) Visa card and earned PCI DSS certification, and in 2019 its licence was extended to cover an account information service (AIS).

Funding a Paysera Account
Accounts can be topped up by bank transfer or with cash at designated partner locations.
Currencies
Paysera handles more than 30 global currencies, including USD, GBP, SEK and DKK.
Why Operators Add Paysera
Paysera brings the familiar strengths of traditional banking into a fully digital service. Speed is one of them: euro payments via SEPA Instant are processed immediately, and international transfers settle within 30 minutes. Other advantages include:
Low Fees
Private clients pay no transaction fees, and businesses such as casinos pay just 0.29 EUR per transaction within the SEPA Instant area.
Currency Exchange
More than 30 currencies can be converted at favourable rates, helping players and operators serve a broad audience.
Visa Payment Cards
Paysera’s contactless Visa cards work like any other Visa card, and players can withdraw winnings to them.
What Players Can Expect
Holding a PCI DSS certificate, Paysera is a safe and reliable choice, and casino players have not reported major problems with it. It covers both deposits and withdrawals, and apart from fees on transfers outside the SEPA system, no significant obstacles have been reported. Users can open SEPA and IBAN accounts online and bank fully digitally.
Two limitations are worth noting: the prepaid card is issued only to EEA residents, and players can move money only between their Paysera account and other bank accounts, which narrows the options somewhat.
Transaction Limits
Paysera’s maximum daily transaction limit is EUR 10,000, although this varies by country. International transfers can go up to EUR 100,000, and daily withdrawals are capped at EUR 2,000.
Customer Support
Paysera’s knowledge base covers a wide range of topics. For further help, clients can reach English-language support by phone around the clock.
Security
Current encryption technology protects user accounts and personal data. Paysera also runs regular scans and audits and monitors its systems continuously, with 3D Secure (Verified by Visa) and firewalls as further safeguards.
Licensing
Paysera is licensed by the Bank of Lithuania and holds PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) certification.
