Evolution is the world's largest supplier of live dealer games, and for many operators a live casino without its tables feels incomplete. Founded in 2006, the company first made its name supplying European casinos with roulette and blackjack hosted by real dealers, something few online players had seen at the time. It launched an HTML5 mobile platform in 2012, and at the end of 2020 completed its acquisition of NetEnt, which added video slots to the group and strengthened its position in North America. Here is what sets its live portfolio apart.
Variety beyond the classics
Not so long ago, most live casinos offered a short list of standard games: European and American roulette, a few blackjack tables, punto banco and perhaps craps. Many studios still do. Evolution took a different path, building numerous variants of every core game so that players always have something new to try.
Roulette
- Immersive Roulette uses multiple HD cameras and slow-motion replays of the ball landing. It was named Game of the Year at the 2014 EGR awards.
- Lightning Roulette pairs a futuristic studio with randomly selected lucky numbers that pay boosted wins from 50:1 up to 500:1. Regional versions with Italian- and Spanish-speaking dealers are available.
- Double Ball Roulette spins two balls at once, producing two winning numbers every round.
- Further options include Dual Play Roulette, Instant Roulette and the exclusive Salon Privé tables.
Blackjack
Evolution's blackjack tables generally follow American-style rules: the dealer stands on 17, blackjack pays 3:2 and insurance is offered when the dealer shows an Ace. Tables usually have seven seats, but the Bet Behind feature lets extra players wager on seated players' hands when a table is full. Most games also include side bets. Free Bet Blackjack, for example, offers Any Pair, 21+3, Hot 3 and Bust It side bets paying up to 250:1, although its theoretical house edge of 1.55% is higher than on standard tables.
Blackjack Party takes a lighter approach. Two dealers host the table, chat with players and keep the mood lively between hands, and the game offers an RTP of 99.64%. Other variants include Power Blackjack, Infinite Blackjack and Speed Blackjack.
Baccarat
Where some suppliers repeat a single baccarat game across identical tables with different dealers, Evolution offers genuinely different versions. Baccarat Squeeze slows down the card reveal in a style much loved by Asian players, and Baccarat Control Squeeze lets players squeeze the cards themselves. A multi-table interface allows dedicated fans to bet on several tables at once without opening each game.
Game shows
Evolution also introduced the live game show category to online gambling. Titles include Dream Catcher, a money wheel game; Monopoly Live, which adds elements of the classic board game to a wheel format; and Lightning Dice, a dice game with multipliers that can pay up to 1000:1.
Studio features players notice
Game variety is only part of the story. Production quality and interface details matter just as much:
- Broadcast-grade video. Streams compare with HD television, and players on slow connections can lower the video quality instead of dropping out.
- Several camera angles. Roulette studios usually run two or three cameras, and the view switches automatically to follow the ball as it settles.
- Roulette statistics. A built-in tool stores hundreds of recent rounds and shows the share of red and black, odd and even and other outcomes.
- In-game help. A "?" button opens detailed rules for each game, which is especially useful for blackjack players.
- Multi-game play. The Table+ button opens another Evolution game in a new window, which can be minimized to a small icon while staying active.
Studios and scale
Evolution broadcasts from studios in several countries, including Latvia, Malta and Spain, with hundreds of tables and thousands of dealers working in many languages. That scale lets operators offer native-language tables to players in their own markets. For more on how the company's brand developed, read our article on Evolution's rebrand.
