Draw has several meanings, and the game decides which one applies. In blackjack, to draw is to take another card, the same as a hit. In draw poker, players discard cards and draw replacements to improve their hand.
In hold’em and other poker games, a draw is an unfinished hand that still needs a specific card: a flush draw needs one more card of the same suit, a straight draw needs the card that completes the sequence. A player “on a straight draw” is one card away from a straight. In keno and lotteries, the draw is the selection of the winning numbers — 20 numbers in a standard keno game — and the word also refers to the results.
Draw-based games
Keno and lottery-style draws form their own product line, running on a fixed schedule or instantly via a random number generator. They can broaden a lobby’s appeal beyond slots and table games.
